Catching Up
Just to finish up with the Ashland photos (Click any photo to enlarge):
Here’s the cottage we where we stayed. It’s nestled up against Ashland Creek, and set among several art studios. Gotta nail it down for next year.
Before every evening performance, there is a “Green Show” performance by various artistic groups with a theme loosely related to one of the plays:
We got a bonus performance after this particular show - a woman who had been on a mission to be able to perform topless in the 4th of July parade was taking her case to the streets in rather dramatic fashion. I love the way everyone is pretending she’s a piece of sculpture or landscaping. Unseen, perhaps, are multiple sets of spousal knuckles buried in spousal kidneys as incentive. (FYI, Mrs. Perils encouraged me to take this photo):
After a week of awfully good visibility on our hikes, the smoke from California fires blew into the valley, dimming the sun to about 40 watts:
It’s always a downer to leave, but it’s also always cool to catch an aerial view of the Seattle harbor and skyline:
Oh, the Nekkid Lady and her swath of reaction was hilarious! She was approached by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival head PR person, who was trying to convince her to get out of the public square; to which Nekkid lady announced loudly,”I am NOT performing! this is my life! You must all be Americans!” Then she stalked across the plaza, with all kinds of people pretending not to notice her passage.
Coo coo, but relatively harmless, compared to the real estate developers in that area.
So that’s not her posing in front of the cottage?
Sweet cottage, by the way.
KathyR - Hard as I tried, I couldn’t secure a private audience. Prolly why I’m still alive.
Every year you’ve shown pictures of your trip there, it looks like quite an enjoyable time.
There used to be a guy at UC Berkeley who ran through the campus all the time.
You must admit, she’s cute and she’s right, it doesn’t mean “sex” although as backwards as we are in the states, people would rather react to this, than war and killing innocent people.
Go figure? ; (
That is a very cute cottage. Looks like a comfy place to stay while in Ashland.
I guess it must be pretty important to be able to go topless. It’s the only thing on Nekkid Lady’s mind.
Happy to report she made a command performance at the
Country Fair in Eugene this weekend.
(incredibly lovely earlobes)
CM - You’re right, my mind was so focused on first amendment stuff that sex never occurred to me. Nope.
Robin - it’s a sweet little abode. Yeah, she does seem to be a single-issue kind of woman. Will we see more of this with global warming?
Marci - yes, I was obsessed with her earlobes. She’s working her way north? Maybe she’ll be here for Bumbershoot.
Boy, Phil, that picture of the 20 mile per hour speed limit sign was fascinating. I couldn’t stop looking at it.
The guy in the orange shirt looks like a real art buff.
